Proper installation can significantly affect hose performance and service life. A few simple practices can help prevent unnecessary stress, premature wear and hose failure.
DO ✓
- Allow enough hose length for movement and flexing.
- Maintain the recommended minimum bend radius.
- Keep the hose in a single plane of movement.
- Support and protect hose where required.
- Inspect the assembly before installation.
DON’T ✕
- Twist the hose during installation.
- Bend sharply near the end fitting.
- Allow the hose to rub against surrounding equipment.
- Use the hose to compensate for excessive misalignment.
- Ignore visible damage, kinks or braid distortion.
